Ongoing GIS Projects Update

GIS Center

Currently, we are working on a data-integration plan which will allow us to consolidate data into a secure database. This approach will allow users to have access to the latest and most accurate data. The following list represents GIS projects that are essential to the success of the GIS Center:

GIS Standards

Providing accurate and up-to-date information is essential in any project-planning activity. TDS GIS, together with other departments, will work on process, procedures, and forms that will ensure that GIS data will be developed in accordance with the FGDS standards. We are in the process of evaluating data-sharing models at the Tribal, regional, state, and national levels.

GIS Data

The GIS Center has made GIS data available to Tribal departments through central database access on the SDE server, or by a data request. The release of this GIS data is the first step in standardizing the base GIS data used by the Tulalip departments. We collect data from various sources and from time to time we update the data on the server.

GIS Maps

We have developed a set of base maps that is available for viewing, downloading, and analysis by Tribal departments. This is accomplished through the deployment of the 2007 Tulalip Map Catalog, Volume 3, a comprehensive set of maps depicting various features of the Tulalip Tribes. The map portfolio is available in the following formats:

  • a hard copy map book (11” x 17”),and
  • an electronic (PDF) version.

To order, please submit a completed Map Request form to the GIS Center, either by fax at
360-651-3107, or in person. See our Contacts page for our location.

Tulalip Interactive Map Viewer (TIM Viewer)

We are in the process of developing an Interactive Map System. The purpose of the map system is to:

  • enhance users experience with GIS,
  • allow users to decide what information they want to view and analyze,
  • allow users to query spatial information and view related material based on location,
  • make latest data, maps and metadata more accessible to our users.

Please, visit Maps & Data page for the latest list of the interactive maps.

Additionally, we are working with individual Tribal departments on projects where spatial data and maps are needed. Please visit our Services page for a list of our services with descriptions.  Visit our Contacts page for request forms, contact information, and our location.
